New York City
|
The ?Big Apple?, the ?City That Never Sleeps?, the ?Capital of the World?. New York City can easily be recognized as an international center. From its cultural and ethnic diversity, to its business, finance, fashion, entertainment and media, New York City is a hub for money and prosperity for those with the balls to make it. Its population of 18.7 million in the metropolitan area alone makes New York City a crowded and tough place to get ahead in depending on your occupation. Crime is rampant and the ?Big Apple? is ripe and ready to be plucked from the tree, for whoever wants it.

Jersey City
|
Considered part of New York City?s metropolitan area, Jersey City boasts a culturally diverse population with an approximately equal mix of non-Hispanic whites, non-Hispanic blacks, Asians and Latinos. Located on the West Bank of the Hudson River, it is home to business extensions based on the island of Manhattan which it overlooks. With its 11 miles of waterfront, Jersey City is a prosperous import/export and business centre. For the wise, crime does pay in a city like this. Jersey City is an important distribution center and transportation terminus and control is the name of the game.

Miami
|
Miami, officially considered a city in 1896, is a major city in the south-eastern corner of Florida. Population over the last half-century has boomed due to internal migration and mass immigration, mainly from Latin America and the Caribbean islanders. This, coupled with Miami?s ties to North, South and Central America have increased the region?s importance as an international financial and cultural center giving Miami the status of World City. ?The Gateway of the Americas? is an important center of the Hispanic world. Its ties to Central and South America have led to political controversies regarding drugs, terrorism and immigration. Not all of Miami?s ocean borders can be protected at all times.

Las Vegas
|
?Welcome to fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada!? It?s not called the ?Entertainment Capital of the World? for nothing. Officially a city in 1911, Las Vegas is a popular gambling, entertainment, shopping and vacation destination. It is also considered the centre of gambling in the US. ?Sin City? is not the ideal spot for of a wholesome family vacation, but people don?t come for the family values, they come for the profuse alcohol and its various forms and degrees of adult entertainment. For the wise, millions can be made in this town. Ask yourself, are you seeking a lucky hand or are you looking to make real money?

The Borough of Manhattan
|
Referred to as ?The City? by residents of the other four boroughs, Manhattan is the commercial, cultural and financial center of New York City. It is also the headquarters of the United Nations and the seat of city government. Manhattan is home to many famous landmarks, tourist attractions, museums, universities and has the largest central business district in the United States. Manhattan is also the site of most of the city's corporate headquarters and the New York Stock Exchange. This borough has history. It has been the scene of many important American cultural movements. Don?t bother coming unless you?re willing to create a little history for yourself.

The Borough of Brooklyn
|
The ?Home to Everyone From Everywhere!? Brooklyn is considered New York City?s most popular borough with approximately 2.5 million residents. Before its consolidation with New York in 1898, Brooklyn was an independent city and was dubbed the ?City of Trees?, the ?City of Homes? and the ?City of Churches?. To this day Brooklyn holds a distinct character of its own, despite its consolidation with New York. Like the rest of the densely populated New York City, Brooklyn?s population salad bowl of blacks, whites, Hispanics, Asians and Europeans amongst other groups. Powerful people have called this place home. You wouldn?t want to disappoint them, would you?

|
The Strip is 4 miles of Las Vegas Boulevard South, partly in Las Vegas. It has been designated an ?All-American Road? and is where many of the largest hotels, casinos and resorts are located. The Las Vegas Strip has been called Arrowhead Highway, Salt Lake Highway, U.S. Highway 91, and Los Angeles Highway. Only a small portion of the Strip is located within the city limits of Las Vegas. The Strip isn?t just the home of hotels and casinos. Its up to you to decide what goes on the Strip.

Kansas City (Missouri)
|
Nicknamed "The Heart of America" Kansas City; Missouri stands nearly in the center of the USA. With an official city population at about four hundred fifty thousand and a metro population of a little less than two million, Kansas City is the twenty seventh largest metro-city in the US and one of the largest cities in the Mid-West. But with great size comes great problems. Marked as the eighth deadliest city in the US, Kansas City has the fourth worst crime rate in the country. Most of the crime is concentrated around the "Core" of the 'Cowtown', where several heritages and levels of society have been meshed together and must fight for their own ground.

Palermo
|
Palermo is the principal city of Sicily, an autonomous region of Italy. It was founded in the 8th century BC by Phoenician tradesmen. Panormus, Palermo?s Greek name meaning all-port, was given due to the city?s natural harbor. A dramatic feature of the city, as well as all of Southern Italy is the Mafia. Their influence has been felt for decades, controlling the outcome of Sicily?s future when it became autonomous from Italy. The Mafia?s hold on the city is so tight that one step in the wrong direction could cost you your life. A step in the right direction, however, can mean the start of an arduous but prosperous life.

Medellin
|
As of 2006, Medell?n municipality has a population of 2,223,078 inhabitants, making it the second most populated city in Colombia after Bogot?. Medell?n also serves as the core of the Valle de Aburr? metropolitan area, the second largest in Colombia and a leading and productive industrial and urban center. Until the late 1990s, the city became known for being a base for the most powerful international drug trafficking organizations like the homebased Medell?n Cartel, and for being constantly affected by the violent Colombian conflict. Recent social changes have led to make Medell?n a safer place. The city's major concern, shared by many other Colombian cities, is the ongoing unemployment and sub-employment problem

The Neighborhood of Loop
|
The Loop is what locals call the downtown neighborhood of Chicago. It is the second largest downtown business district in the United States, after Midtown Manhattan. Bounded on the west and north by the Chicago River, on the east by Lake Michigan, and on the south by Roosevelt Road, the lack of space shaped an architectural style dominated by high-rises. Notable buildings include the Home Insurance Building, considered the first skyscraper, to the Sears Tower, the tallest in the United States. Some of the historic buildings in this district were instrumental in the development of high-rises.

Staten Island, Borough of New York City
Staten Island was arguably best known as the site of the Fresh Kills Landfill, the primary destination for garbage from the five boroughs of New York City and the largest single source of methane pollution in the world.Staten Island is sometimes jokingly called "Staten Italy" because of its gigantic Italian-American population. Many young adults in the island's local music community have nick-named Staten Island "The Rock". Former Professional wrestler "Macho Man" Randy Savage now resides in Staten Island New York.

The Neighborhood of Providence
The City of Providence is quiet and elite. But still within this area is a power to be reckoned with. The Boston mob previously headed up by Raymond Patriarca rulled supreme here as everyone bowed to the office. Now in 2006 with the Gambino's purchasing rule for 21 Million (from staff) the new age of Boston's power begins.

The Bronx, Borough of New York City
The Jewish population also increased notably during this time and many synagogues are still evident throughout the borough (although a good portion of these have been converted to other uses). In the prohibition days, bootleggers and gangs ran rampant in the Bronx. Mostly Polish and Italian immigrants smuggled in the illegal whiskey. By 1926, the Bronx was noted for its high crime rate and its many speakeasies.

Queens, Borough of New York City
Residents of Queens have been known to identify more with their neighborhood than with the borough as a whole. Howard Beach and Middle Village are home to large Italian-American populations, Rockaway Beach has a large Irish-American population, Astoria, in the northwest, is traditionally home to one of the largest Greek populations outside of Greece, and is home to a growing population of young professionals from Manhattan. Maspeth is home to many European immigrants, including a large Polish population. Several large companies have their headquarters in Queens. The West Side, West Los Angeles
West L.A. or the Westside is generally considered to be the portion of Los Angeles, California that lies east of the Pacific Ocean, west of La Cienega Boulevard, south of the Santa Monica Mountains, and north of the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The Westside is generally thought of as the white part of the city of Los Angeles, in contrast to Latino-dominated East Side, the Latino and Asian areas such as Pico-Union and Koreatown in and around downtown, and the black and Latino neighborhoods of South Los Angeles.

South Central Los Angeles
South Los Angeles is the official name for a large geographic and cultural area lying to the south and southeast of downtown Los Angeles, California. The area was formerly known as South Central Los Angeles (or South Central for short). Beginning in the 1970s, the precipitous decline of the area's manufacturing base resulted in widespread poverty and crime. Street gangs, such as the Crips and Bloods, rose to great notoriety at this time, becoming even more powerful with the arrival of crack cocaine (trade in which became dominated by gangs) in the 1980s. The area suffered even further as downtown Los Angeles' service sector, which had long been dominated by unionized African-Americans earning relatively high wages, replaced most of these black workers with newly arrived Central American immigrants.
