So,

I'm new. Hopefully I haven't shot myself in the foot by creating a Czech character. Unsure that I want to put an injured foot down in unknown territory, assuming the sharks can smell blood around here; perhaps I'll hold off on posting.

Any suggestions and a push in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

If your worried about dying get a gun other then that I have to say don't get anyone angry you shouldn't be at risk of dying.
Also get a business like a flower shop and maybe get a drug lab in the basement or have prostitutes upstairs perhaps have a gambling ring in the basement and a security center on the second floor something like that. Get a security camera some NPCs and make sure they have guns get a security and then you'll be able to collect money for the business also get drugs from the drug lab and no one will rob the place if it has a security camera and some guards. Make friends with a PC or two and get into a group so you can make sure you have someone to help you if you need something.

Also about your character being Czech most people on the site are Italian Russian or Black. That is all I have to say.

Michael's right, you should probably make a character that's in it for the long haul, one that you want to develop and actually make a good story out of. If a Czech women sounds like someone you'd want to write a lot about then by all means go for it. There's the Russian Vorys if you're looking for a Eastern group, or you could just make friendly with the other unaffiliated characters. Best thing to do now though is to write up a intro piece, and get yourself setup in whichever direction you want to take your character.

The risk is half the fun, no? I'll try not to step on any toes, but it is only my first day.

Veronika, make a post that'll give you some money and a business of some sort. Keep it realistic, though. I've seen too many tards on this site who own fifty AK's and, somehow, fly above the suspicion of the feds.

Run a legitimate business to start with, and later on (if you want to), go ahead and start delving around in illegitimate stuff. Form a solid foundation for your character first before you do any of that, though. An IC intro thread can help you as far as that's concerned.

You don't have to necessarily RP with other role players, even though it's recommended that you do. What I did in that thread is just introduce my character and his sister, so that I can have her as one of my NPCs (Non-Player Character) and obtain a place to live.
